Mission Statement & Objectives

Strengths of the project

  • The concept has been and continues to be designed and developed by young people
  • It is relevant to the current social and financial situation
  • It provides a broad and inclusive mission for people of all ages
  • It creates a format that is relevant in most industrialised countries
  • It will produce video and other outputs that can be widely used and shared
  • The B4C website will be designed and developed by young people and provide a forum for debate
  • It has the potential to save money and improve the way we use our limited financial resources

What we have done so far

  • Developed the concept through discussion with young people
  • Provided internships and training in interviewing and filming for young people
  • Helped young people produce the introductory video explaining the project
  • Helped young people to create the first B4C Podcast
  • Gained the support and partnership of Hafsa’s secondary school in Harringey
  • Created a team of young people, professionals and volunteers to initiate the project
  • Begun to help young people meet and talk with decision-makers

What we are looking for now

  • More debate between young people and adult decision-makers about practical solutions
  • People in different spheres working together to help achieve these goals
  • Involvement with schools who can also use B4C educationally
  • Active support from youth organisations and local and central government
  • Support from individuals who would like to help in their area or nationally
  • Social, educational, political, media and other professionals who can offer advice and/or support

Future aims and objectives:

  • To provide a link between and united voice for community led youth organisations throughout the country
